hi guys,

i'm fed up with the limitations sony has put me up with so now i finally put on my nasty shoes (that's a dutch saying ) and jailbreak my ps3.
havn't got a clue where to start yet but i'm sure i will figure out how to do it.
i noticed a lot of links on the internet for jailbreaking, probably most are fake unfortunately but hopefully with some help of you guys i will get the job done correctly

if i can be of any help i would sure love to.

You should probably start by gathering your consoles info (firmware, console model) and if it's on or below 3.55 you're good to go ahead and install your preferred cfw.
If you're on 4.11 official firmware, you're going to need a downgrade solution before you can go any further.

i have the latest fat ps3 with a 500 GB harrdrive inside. and currently running the latest firmware 4.11.
and i'm not a spambot lol!

so.. how can i downgrade?
and will i still be able to play games online after a downgrade?

i also saw a lot of 4.11 jailbreaks online.. are they no good?

Sorry but the only way is to downgrade via a hardware flasher. (E3,...)

Playing online is possible due to the latest rebug spoofer.

The fact that it is a phat ps3 means you can downgrade it! that's the good news.

But because you're running 4.11, you need to downgrade. This can only be done by opening up your ps3 and install a flasher....

To be honnest i never did it myself (never had to, since my console came with <3.55)

First you would need to know if you have a NOR or a NAND chip in your console.
Slims always have a NOR. But some of the older phats have a NAND memory chip.

check your model number (CECHxxx) here: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/SKU_Models

chances of sony bricking your console, simple , NONE. I would be more concerned about you bricking your console. (downgrading can be tricky, so always make backups of your flash)
