As "Sceners" they would have done everything against TB. Supporting TB means you're against the scene. That's how I see it. And if they would not have gotten anything from TB for their work, I think they wouldn't have done it!

TB was depending on Paradox. So why should Paradox not want money, since TB is making a lot of money with Paradoxes work? That would not only be stupid by Paradox but also insane.

And as real Sceners they would never have started to wor with TB!

well theres either those that discovered something and wont release or those that discovered something and release for money
