It's exciting news but anyone jumping to conclusions is silly.

I'm not, but China, Hong Kong, most of the EU, the USA and the majority of English speaking countries (the larger importers) have made it illegal to duplicate games for any reason and has nothing to do with the EULA's (which totally suck and have no regard to most applicable personal rights). Canada seems to only really big exception.

True blue is not required to play those newer games!
The exact purpose of each device I listed differs per device, the console design for and it's user. The DRM Dongles fit closely into these categories and often these products incorporate code from the manufacturer of the video game console as it's used to bypass it's protection.

Also, you are assuming that they stole Sony code or open source code as you do not know what the code contains. I've been reading since day 1 and so far this hacker in this article is the only one to decipher the code and hopefully the result will be knowing what exactly is used.

There's also nothing wrong using open source or free code in your product if you aren't breaking any licenses and lastly there is no proof as of yet if the Dongle is actually required to boot the 3.6+ eboots or if it's just a giant DRM stick. It could be, but until proven otherwise I am not going to jump to conclusions.

I've read and read and read, but there's not a single thing that I've come across that can prove they stole anything (I however believe they probably did as so do all of the backup units, flashcards and modchips).

Remember the GBA NEOFLASH? You had to use ROMS in their own format (DRM) that they released on the NET. Ring a bell? I could go on about tons of DRM related backup/modchips/flashcards, but I've been warned to be more concise.

Aye, you're right. It should allow for 3.6+ content to be run on 3.55 machines. I was wrong.

First stolen code from sony computer entertainment, or how do you think they have eboots??
There are many scenarios/guesswork in how they crack the eboots and stealing them from Sony is one of the many. No proof has been shown in any case.

What code? What exactly did they use?

I don't understand why you guys are so hyped up. It's cool there's a step forward in the scene, well what's published so far. Sooner or later the TB device will be cracked and we can decrypt the TB eboots.

What we still forget is, that we need a supplier, who can supply us debug eboots. I don't think that the guy(s) who's('re) now supplying PARADOX, BORG and EHRGEIZ will continue, once we know the inner working of the device.

Another thing is that we only credit oct0xor, which is good. But there are more people behind the work, which he stated. Like flat_z, who was with him since the beginning, Crashserious and naehrwert who probably joined the group recently. There are probably more people, but they want to remain anonymous I guess.

Anyways good news for TB owners, yesterday
- Game_of_Thrones_EBOOT_PATCH_TB_PS3-EHRGEIZ
- Tom_Clancys_Ghost_Recon_Future_Soldier_EBOOT_PATCH_TB_PS3-EHRGEIZ
- Dragons_Dogma_EBOOT_PATCH_TB_PS3-BORG
- SBK_Generations_EBOOT_PATCH_TB_PS3-BORG
The day after
- Major League Baseball 2K12 EBOOT PATCH TB PS3-EHRGEIZ

I see nothing wrong with writing long winded sentences and paragraphs and I'm sorry, but I'm not going to hide my posts or cut out anything to please you unless you agree to not write something that takes up 5 pages of screen on the front page. How does it feel to be asked to do the same as you ask?

What's next enforcing spelling rules?

Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but I think what you asked is unheard of on any forum. I'm going to type what I want to type and I did read the forum rules - there's nothing about how short or long a post can be. I mean, who are you to tell me what I can or cannot write? Again, I'm not trying to be rude.
Are you kidding me? im not *playing the teacher* here im being the MODERATOR (sounds any bells?) It's not ABOUT the lengh of your messages. It's about keeping things in order if your PLAN is WRITE in good grammar but to the users including me, seeing sooooo long texts we use CODE brackets or spoiler brackets.
When we know we will write some *serious text* even with a *bad grammar* In order to not turn this whole thread a mess = we use spoiler or code brackets. (keep that in mind)

Funny how people associate the ability of free piracy with the scene being alive.
If you think the scene is dead now then it will stay dead until more devs feel appreciated and start to make HB for the PS3. But if people keep shouting hooray for every Piracy breakthrough and throw tomatoes for entertaining HB and tools then the scene will stay dead for a long time.

(if you still feel like reading my contribution... then read on..)

I'm not saying I'm against enabling games on our hacked devices again, and I'm not even saying that I'm completely against piracy. I think you should decide that for yourself. But I do say that every tool and HB game released should be equally cheered. This breakthrough is a wonderful one but it doesn't mean the scene is saved.

@hellsing9 :
Not to get myself mixed into a fight or anything, but I think neither you or jennys are of bad spirit here. I think he jennys only tries to make his/her point and doesn't know how to make it shorter then how he/she does. If so than I could understand him/her making longer posts. Since this is a discussion board I don't see how this would be wrong. But maybe this discussion should be taken to a new thread? just my 2 cents, as I don't want people to get into a fight when both parties are of good will.

@DrWho198
I have no right to tell the other what to write or not. I don't censor words, the only thing im asking a little order and the user attacked because /me don't having good grammar (i can handle with that since it's my third language english) In any words that i directed towards jennys was not in disrespect manner.
I have to keep some sections *clean* from time to time that's all the same i have to do with user who posts code without code brackets. (i have to edit, ect).

Fine by me.
