all right so there is a patch for the game that i would like to use...my question is i also still want to keep my unpatched version! so i want to make 2 on the same ps3 one that IS patched and one that isn't (and i would just transfer my save file back and forth using FTP or something)
my question is how do i do it?

i would appreciate all or any help i can get

You cant unless you have 2 different game IDs . BLESxxxx? BLUSxxxx ? or just move the game data from dev_hdd0\game\BLESxxxx what ever your game id is . Then use the same (game save) Or find the closest region code & try & convert BLES to BLUS , using the PARAM.SFO + EBOOT.BIn from somebody . I did this with many games .

so the game is dark souls... and the one i have is (BLES01402) and i already tried using a .SFO editor to change the number of the game...but that didn't work are you suggesting to change the letters? from BLES to BLUS?

Get the original PARAM.SFO + EBOOT.BIN for the game id you do not have. Make another backup & copy the param + eboot over your second backup .Then if works install the patch for it & boom you have to regions with 2 setups .I done this with Black ops BLUS30591 to BLES01031 + others . Mainly Black ops & activated DLC on all 3 of my CFW using both regions + DLC for Both .

I could not get the other region to work like BLES01105 i think it was something did not work for converting but most either have BLES or BLUS & those with just 2 game ids work & are easier to convert than games that have like 5 ids .

And yes convert the second to BLUS it should work .
