They aren't.

There's no point comparing the ram required for PC's these days and consoles. Consoles aren't stuck with a bloatware OS that chews into all the ram.

Consoles have always managed with less RAM than what's required by PC's at the time. The PS3 has 256 MB of XDR DRAM main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory for the RSX and look what it achieves already.

There's no way a PC with those specs would run the same games that a PS3 can with the same specs.

Plus, coding for one strict set of hardware makes everything less "bloaty". PC games have to be coded for a hell of alot of different hardware setups. That's why porting games between systems usually ends up in a mess with one being better than the other.

Yes youre right i know this , but 2GB RAM for Gaming Console not only for a Multmedia station for the next 7/8/9 years ahhhh and the devs say this in the beginning, put 4 better 6 GB , Gamers will pay the 50-80 Dollar difference ...

2gb ram for a dedicated console is more than enough, remember, it doesnt run games on top of a resource hungry OS like windows
