I hope it doesn't take them as long, as it took to release a nand version of their flasher.

Well, according to one of my contacts who had a chat with a member of the e3 team, it can take a year before the CFW is released. The member of E3 also said that they can use the card-reader for the eboot thing but they won't because it can be cracked easily.
