Agreed - rumor and speculation are typically treated as "fact" here. Regarding those frontpaged "news" articles, there's never any evidence provided to support the allegations made. Unfortunately, the difference between opinions and facts is also not understood or is ignored.

how can a "rumor" be misconstrued as "fact" by certain readers
its true that many readers cannot tell the difference between opinions and facts and a couple of posters in this thread prove it (thats a fact btw)

I can understand people who don't use English as their first language maybe misunderstanding context and words like Rumour/Rumor but how do you turn something that OBVIOUSLY STATES that it's a RUMOUR into a COLD HARD FACT?

You must be a complete idiot thinking Sony will even risk doing this. They already made billions in losses last year, and if they do something like this they risk even more problems than financial.

Lets break this down, most of the money making games out there are NOT owned or made by Sony. MW3 etc are all independant dev houses, thus the open console distribution as well as PC releases. Sony signed an agreement with these dev lads to ensure their property (Not sonys) doesnt get compromised (Why do you think they tried to make an example of geohot back then? They wanted to show they will do what it takes to protect their publishers).

So anyone thinking they even have remotely have anything to do with a dongle that enables piracy must be completely off their rockers.
