hey all is it possible to run my ps3 and play on my laptop screen ive just got latest slimline ps3 with updates not running any type of hacked ps3 also its only got vga on side of laptop but i have found adapters its an inspiron 1545 if that helps thanks in advance

sure, plug your ps3 to the VGA port of the notebook and on the laptop, select that input as the main one. .
Make sure you get one of those adapters that go from ps2/ps3 to VGA . . Cheers |

You need an input device (e.g. video/tv capture) on the laptop, not output as that cable.

said, you need a device with video inputs (not the laptop RGB/D-sub output) . If you do not mind playing in SD, anything like "easycap" with composite inputs (~ $ 15) will do the job. If you want to play in HD, be prepared to spend ~ $ 150-200 on a HD PVR

He can forget fullHD, as the laptop 15-inch screen is only WXGA (1280×768), so optimally he could go for a HD (1280×720) capture device.
