I didn t use yet but if benzinjiq or someone else can report the resolution of the pic, thanks you.

It was used for Playstation @hom e (in case someone though this dongle created this function) with resolution 720x480 and after by MutliMan (640x480).

It s a really great news, thanks you for everyone who did it.
Are you thinking the same than me, right ? heheheh
The way it works is very important to know what is doing

To take screenshot, just load the game with multiMAN or other manager, and then, before starting the game, start CU (ps3usercheat) and press "triangle" to exit. After this just play the game like usual and pres the PS button during gameplay. Navigate to PHOTOS and you'll see "take screenshot"! It works for me, this way. Haven't tried enabling any cheats, though, cuz I don't need 'em...
Is using a "native" function that is on the ps3 firmware... in other words its calling screenshot_plugin.sprx
The doubt i have is the resolution... because im not sure if there was changes... but is also possible that when calling the module you can pass it some arguments (one of them can be the resolution of the captured image)

So seems to be a couple of patches that "unleash" features that are there, this can be converted to a .tcl patch to build a new 3.55cfw, or to a simple app that does the patch fast, etc...
Also backup managers can use it (this simplifyes the process)... im not sure if there are differences with the method deank was using in multiman, but i bet he will take a look at it

Thanks you, so it can be related to the resolution on param.sfo of the game......Sandungas?
The max resolution of Picture ps3 can read on 3.55 (Sony made an update about this if i remember right) is something huge.

I wonder also if the screenshot can work also when browsing internet (or music/picture)
---------
edit: reading the message of Sandungas
edit2: reading benzinjiq and wonder if by there are news values for resolution flags.

The resolution is directly taken from the game res - I've made a couple of God Of War 3 and the screens are at 1280x720 (720p). If the game is at FullHD, then the screens will be at 1920x1080 (1080p).
As I said the resolution depends on the game itself.
Here's the proof:

Good detail, then is not an argument (or is not a hardcoded resolution)

Edit: removed wrong assumption

Well, tomorrow I can try to edit GoW3's PARAM, to make it support 1080p and give it a shot. But right now it it 03:37 at morning, and I'm kinda sleepy...

Edit: Ok, just managed to make a screenshot of GoW3 @ 1920x1080.
First I've checked the PARAM, and it already said 1080p among the other resolutions. The I went to the PS3's "Display Settings" and made a custom video mode for the HDMI in which I removed all other resolutions exept 1080p (576p stays by default) and with this actually forced GoW3 to play in 1080p.
Once again, here's the proof:

Again - don't forget to click on the picture for full res.

Well, i edited my message, if this "screencapture" function is a flag... is not inside the PARAM.SFO...
I remembered that i was looking for this time ago and is not there.. then i thought it must be inside the eboot.bin itself

I am pretty sure the TB and Cobra team will steal this like they have with everything else and add it to their dongle, so no need to worry TB-lovers, they'll give you a fix later today or in the coming days.

Whether or not they charge you is up to them :P
