i could foresee retroarch being able to detect the games and not needing to actually select a core and then a game, but just selecting the game and retroarch automatically loads the core.
idk, i still really want sega cd pretty much the most
oh, so back on topic, OP, did you get your answers?
I remember a while back some discussion for the best shaders for snes, and a few people suggested 2xBr (or something similar to that name) and AdvancedAA.
Does order of the shaders matter? Like, does it do one shader first, then the second one does the shader on top of that, or does it just add both together to the original picture? I'm gonna go with the former cause it makes sense. I'd be interested in seeing different shader combos in different orders and seeing how they would look. In that case, i'd probably always put stock first if i was gonna use one shader. Then again, like i mentioned, i prefer the original images without any type of smoothing or scaling added.

But there IS good reason to continue using the old versions because the old versions savestates aren't compatible with the new RetroArch ones!

Hehe sorry just had to say that.

That's just for two emulators really. But anyways - continue doing what makes you happy. When I move to SNES9x 1.53/post1.52 savestate support you won't be able to use your current savestates either because SNES9x Next back then already went through a lot of changes on that front. So either way you cut it, they won't work. Tough. Make an SRAM file for your game, and make a savestate from there. Savestates is cheating anyways, and I'm not going to cater to a niche within a niche that wants to stick to a year-old flea-infested emulator port just because their old savestates work on that one).

And those standalone emus didn't have rewind either - which RetroArch PS3 has.

BTW, since I started posting in this thread, I just got a PM asking me about FBANext PS3 support.

Forget it people - I'm not going to support outdated crap that I haven't worked on for over a year, nor am I going to respond to PMs about it. I've made this pretty clear already in this thread. Contact me about RetroArch libretro ports, contact me about RetroArch, but don't contact me about outdated stuff that is already well over a year old and I'm in the process of deleting from the repos altogether. There's no need to use it - they're inferior to the current ports - and you're just wasting your time really.

Just to recap -

FBANEXT PS3 IS DEAD.

SNES9x NEXT PS3 IS DEAD.

FCEU NEXT PS3 IS DEAD.

VBA NEXT PS3 IS DEAD.

GENESIS NEXT PS3 IS DEAD.

What is alive -

RetroArch PS3 (which has all the above and updated versions at that).

There.

Twinaphex i really like how things are retroarch, especially in the matter of configuration of buttons on FBA. I use this: now I can play like real arcade! Any chance fbalpha show names in the game selection menu retroarch? example: sfce (street fighter champion edition) That would be great! keep up the good work.

One cool thing I have noticed in retroarch, is that the screen configurations and shaders work better, especially for very old games.
