Here it goes... A friend of mine bought a PS3 with Rogero 3.55 (spoof 3.70) from China and decided to change the HDD to a larger one. After replacement of the HDD, he upgraded to some CFW he downloaded from somewhere (not rogero for sure, so it must be the main reason) from within the HDD. Now we have a bricked or semi-bricked PS3. When turned on, it turns off itself after around 5-6 secons. The strange thing is, even the red light turns off too, so I have to push twice to turn it on.
I first thought it might be a hardware failure but I dont know. The device acts the same way with and without the HDD (new and old as well). I have a E3 flasher and a Cobra but dont have any backups of this particular console to restore. Any ideas? Any suggestion would be apreciated.

I suppose it was, but not by me or anyone we know. The console was bought with the Rogero already and not backed up before changing to another CFW.

Do you have any dongle that can be used to put ps3 into service mode? Or any other device? If you do, try to put ps3 into service mode

Yes I do have a dongle. And you mean recovery mode or factory/service mode? I think for a service mode the console needs to be on a jailbroken FW right??

No. It needs a dongle (jig) that you can do with a ton of devices. Sony HQ uses service mode in ofw to fix bad ps3. Try to get to service mode. Keep posting on it. I will be following thread
