All you need is the 1.01 patch.

You should delete your game data from game data utility. Then install the pkg fix for your region. EU 1.01 or US 1.01.

NOTE: This will not work for L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition.

Do as playerkp420 says.. Don't mess with the param.sfo, that is not required, just install the pkg and that is it. I just bought that game recently and patched it just by installing the pkg. Only update 1.01 and not 1.02.
