Let me start firstly by saying that I don't nor have I ever owned a branded dongle. Secondly let's examine what happened with the first batch of dongles... They got cracked, added to cfw and then patched shortly after by Sony following law suits slapping any good devs in the scene which is really what destroyed it. These freedom fighting devs released everything for free and had court costs higher than the empire state building. Resulting in them groveling for donations which is embarrassing I'm sure.

So with that out of the way here comes the argument. Most devs are afraid to even utter the words cfw. They're afraid of being thrown in a hole so deep the sun can never reach. For our enjoyment at their cost mind you.

These dildo makers have financial security to take on the lawyers and continue to support their products until someone cracks it and then they have to start over. If team E3 really has 4.xx+ keys and they were released in the wild people would update to 4.11 cfw to find tighter security, wait for workarounds and Sony would simply make new keys because it would be an epidemic all over again. Back to square 1. I personally wish that more emulators would come to the platform as I haven't finished many older games andthe newest games / psn doesn't excite me. However for those who want to play the newest games and still have cfw with all of its perks why should we tell them how to spend their money? A bunch of whining babies crying over the dongle being too expensive really needs to see how much these games go for on store shelves. After sales tax one game is often more than a dongle shipped. With that being said its no wonder theyre crying. They are broke, don't know how to manage their money or are just cheap bastards. Jealous that they can not have the games which others pay for, for free. Donations to devs are few and far between and most of the whiney brats will never donate a dime. Cfw 4.11 isn't the solution because it can be patched easily by Sony which is why the let's haven't leaked. Duh. So if you oppose dongles, money talks. Keep your wallets closed. I am. Its unfortunate and unforgiving, the ps3 scene and its status. That's the truth though. Thats how I see it. If someone concocted a legitimate response intelligently written I will honor the opinion and try to see it from their side. However all trolls can rub their bellies until the magic gems become unglued. Go guard a bridge or something.


Lastly anyone who posts "another pointless homebrew" should be banned. Discouraging devs for releasing anything is pathetic. It let's them know that they aren't appreciated so they may stop working, improving or even releasing. Ps3 scene (mostly) has no respect for devs, mods, members in general and game developers. /rant

We do not and will not ban people for voicing their opinions.

Saying that something is useless does not always carry negative connotations, either. It mostly depends on how the developer handles criticism. I think the Pokemon "game" that was recently released is useless, but I still have nothing but respect towards the developer.

Am I discouraging the developer from making anymore releases? Probably not. The developer will probably read this post, think about what he/she can do to make the game better, and come back with something far superior.

Besides, if a developer loves what they do, then no amount of flame should discourage them from working on their projects. For a developer to leave the scene due to harsh criticism says something about that developer's self-esteem levels. Then, it's their problem.

I got a ton of people who hated on my signatures when I started working with Photoshop. I didn't stop because of a few lousy haters, either. I kept grinding until I became one of the best Photoshop users this forum has ever seen. Okay, lol. I don't want to sound like a conceded jackass but you get the point.

Wow, you said it pal. Give me the code in any package(dongle, .pkg) and I'll run it. Simply because I can't do what devs do and greatly appreciate and understand the work that goes into these things. CFW provides much more than games. I can't knock the hustle of the dmr folks. I own most dongles from the first ps jailbreak to TB, because I find it a necessary evil at times. But also own several jtags and that is where it is at for me now with the limitations on the PS3, but I use my PS3 more.

Planning on buying a True Blue Dongle next week. I actually bought a real copy of Dark Souls and popped it in expecting to play it on my 3.55 KMEAW PS3. But to my surprise I was greeted with an error screen every time I tried to boot it up.

Don't wanna upgrade to the latest firmware just to play this one game, and I'd hate to ruin my chances at not being able to play my pirated games anymore. So I'll just buy the dongle.

If E3 provided this bs dongle for free with the purchase of a flasher I'd be more respectable to them. But since they can come out and say that a dongle is necessary to do these tasks but somehow release two FREE EBOOTS, I have to wonder, why join the dark side and side with the scum likes of TB? Why do they feel they need to get paid for volunteer work? Are the flashers selling less lately?

Fair enough on the not banning thing. That's way harsh but maybe instead their post should be changed to "another useless post" or "I'm a troll" or even still "I have no manners and am unappreciative"

I can name many ps3 devs who are inactive simply because of people hating, trolling, stalking and never saying thanks but asking for more this or that as soon as something is released but I'll just leave it with 2 of the more famous. Mathieul, he's considered emo... Then Kakarotoks the light in the dark so to speak. He was dealing with so many people bombing him with hate because cfw 3.7x+ wasnt ready yet and he asked for help to speed the process because of all the demand and got sick of the constant spamming. He stopped trying because of trolls. I once seen a post in reply to Graf saying how they could take away everything and he would keep working toward getting other os restored, facing legal woes and possible jail time, he kept going and some ass has the nerve to say "sucks that hes going to jail for nothing, this is pointless" maybe here or dukio before it got crunchy. What a slap in the face. They took the man's ps3 away and he kept coding without it having others test his code for us. Need the specific brew or not we need devs. If trolls Chase devs away I say chase the trolls. I'm falling asleep writing this but I don't want to abandon the thoughts.

I had respect for your post until the above quoted, those of us that whine about TB, could afford the damn dongle 100 times over, the most of us that whine about TB have two consoles and gladly buy our own games, i for one buy my own Blu Ray games and i have £100's of pounds worth of PSN games, so those of us that whine about TB, do not do so because we are cheap bastards, we do so, because we do not agree with forcing us to use reDRM.

I fail to see anything ethical in your assessment of the scene in general.

We are as a community willingly violating the terms of service which was thrust upon us, but I highly suspect the law would uphold. Not exactly ethical. Devs who create programs to work within this lawless firmware either free or otherwise can hardly be considered ethical as well. Im American and as such I believe in free enterprise. If they got secrets and they want money before releasing them I can totaly relate, but I will never, ever, under any circumstance pay no matter your opinion on the matter although I respect your right to post it here.
