ok so let me get this straight i just update my e3 flasher with this file and i am good to go for any number of ps3's or should i re-update each time?

Can i use the official process on e3 homepage (khalkedeon) or should i use a different one?

one more Question i am on 3.65 do i have to update to a newer firmware before begining ?

I use the file to update every time I do a different ps3.

I also do the e3 downgrade flow process like I explain in better english in my guide below.

It is recommended to update to the latest firmware, then downgrade. But it doesn't matter. You can do it from any.

I have problem with my flasher too. My first console I downgraded using video from e3 website and everything is fine. After that I wanted to downgrade my friend's console. I didn't update my e3 flasher because I did it before with latest firmware ( 3x backup..)
I get not original ps3 error during bios backup. So I tried with samsung firmware and what I did was:
-put samsung firmware file to sd card
-put sd card to flasher and set the switches like I was upgrading to the latest firmware (first two down, another up)

and nothing...
PS3 boots to the XMB and there's no blue lights on the flasher.
After that I put micro sd card to the computer there's no samsung firmware anymore, its deleted

Are you sure all the blue leds didn't light up? Because if the update.bin file is not on the sd card, the flasher accepted the update.

yes i'm sure, i did it many times and after that still got the same error when I want to make a backup

It worked after I put samsung firmware file using USB
