Would they create a new character for the next game? I would love it if they had nanomachines make Snake younger again or something lol.

No, that would ruin everything.

@gDrive

I've been playing around with a few settings on ePSXe and I this is what I've got with Resident Evil 3. It is notably sharper than it's PS1 counterpart and I've found some nice shaders online to use, and I've also enabled Anti-aliasing (I think).

I think I'll try this with MGS1.

EDIT: In regards to Resident Evil 3, for some reason only 3D models get sharper and stuff, but everything in the background like the books and the floor stay the same... or they change very slightly.

With regards to certain (flat/2D mainly) textures not being upscaled, that's normal sadly, and in FF7, you won't notice any 2D (background) improvements either.

As for MGS, seeing as there isn't any (more/less) 2D-based graphical parts, you will notice the improvements on all of the sections, and if you do plan to play the game on ePSXe, then make sure that when you meet Psycho Mantis, you DO NOT let the memory card-accessing phase of the cutscene, otherwise the game will freeze, so if you DO get to meet Psycho Mantis, then create a game state save as a safety precaution.

Alternatively, you COULD always play MGS: Twin Snakes (the remake of the first game) on the Dolphin Emulator, but you will need a high-specification PC, with the recommended specifications below:

- Intel Core i5/i7 (~3GHz or faster)
- 4GB RAM or more
- nVidia GTX480/AMD Radeon 5800 Series or above

I love the Metal Gear games. I decided to play through MGS (PSN Version) yesterday on my PS3. I have fond memories of playing through the game multiple times on my original PlayStation. The game does look dated and the controls seem very fiddly now, I think the camera is the main issue, but after 20 minutes the game had me hooked again and I played through without any real problems.

Now if I can just get The Twin Snakes to run better on my modded Wii from my crappy SD card (broken drive) I'll get to experience MGS with the enhancements of MGS2!

Metal Gear Raiden..... Yes, it's not a MGS title. I don't care! I get to play as a MGS4 style Raiden!

As for MGS5.... I can't wait!!!!!

You need a high spec PC for a gamecube game? Huh?

What have we left for today's games then?

NOT in all cases fortunately, but with games like MGS: Twin Snakes, you do need a powerful PC.

Having said that, other games like Super Mario Sunshine, and No More Heroes 2 (with a text-file-based speed hack) can run without issues on a PC with Intel Core2Duo @ 2.66GHz, 2GB RAM and a nVidia GTX285, as I had a PC with that setup back in 2009.
