it is easy to know for you so please -test it self:
1. using minvercheck PUP (on a CECH-2001A ... it will show 2.70, so its a downgrade-able to 355
2. see here and extract your dump with flowrebuilder and then open bootloader_0 with HxD (CTRL +A) if bootldr size shows 2F170 or 2F3F0 its downgrade-able!

to clear it again the missunderstanding on post´s before
all CECH-30xx and CECH-25xx that the minvercheck shows 356 or 360 ... are NON-downgrade-able !

hope its clear now how.

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately, I can't return it . . . it was found on Craigslist and I know that the guy won't take it back. Are we as a community anywhere near making this downgradable?

yes it shows 2.70 !!! ok but now this is where im stuck do i have to buy somthing to downgrade or can i do it for free somehow because i dont have the money right now.

@ps3player211 as your ps3 is CECH-3001A which also called aka the hackable ps3 its the new slim that sony made . so u cant downgrade if u try then u will brick your ps3 . the only option u have got is to buy another ps3 on 3.55 fw or below or a ps3 that can be downgrade . your ps3 can be downgrade simple as . soz its bad news but thats how it is.

ok 1) your ps3 cant be downgraded to 3.55 because your ps3 factory fw is way over 3.56 .which your ps3 cant downgrade to a fw lower than the factory fw like with all ps3 but your is total diffent to other ps3 because

2) the reason why the CECH-3001A etc models came out is so that it cant be downgraded because of the cfw etc . thats is the only reason why this ps3 came out

3) if a cfw 4.11 came out then thats a diffent story, u should be able to use it but as for downgrading u cant cos of the data code and stuff etc

my name is drizz and im in same boat CECH-2001A checks out so whats bext where do i buy a downgradeable device im on 4.11 atm plz help
