Just wanted to add that no form of English is the same as the original form. For instance, we no longer use the letter f for the short form of the letter s. In my studies I've found that if you want an example of the original form of English you can best find it by reading something like the King James Bible. I have yet to find ANY English speaking person from anywhere speak like that, unless it was in a Shakespeare play. Last edited by BobbyBangin; 06-25-2012 at 12:41 PM. |

Er - but I don't understand why you added your wifes, Australian point. Anyway yes we don't sound like Thespians, but maintain a certain level of respect for language and progression. In fact the variation in accent/vocabulary/slang between cities 20 miles away in the UK can be quite stark. I know some people prefer to spell like they speak (phonetically) and though may seem easier "it aint rite, simpuls" this goes for some stupid Brits too btw.
Though the reality is language will always change and the simple rule is that if enough people use/spell the term it will become adopted, of course the popular media amplifies and accelerates this use and that is commonly northern american. "It's da way 'tiz" |

That said though, face facts please and use historical evidence to prove that most of the misspellings of original English words in US were done intentionally to distance Americans from the UK as shock and horror, there actually used to be more than a wee bit of dislike between us lol. It Is bastardised, but so are many local English dialects. One prime example is the abuse of the date format. 1/24/2012 etc is ludicrous, and the f*ck wit who managed to convince people to take it on should be shot, and so should anyone who believes it makes sense (regardless of country). It should ONLY read as 24/1/2012 as that is a Digital and time sequenced structure, just as 24/7 is when meaning 24 hours, 7 days a week. Twenty Fourth of January, Two Thousand and Twelve can Never equate to First of Squiggly bum, Two Thousand and Twelve as one is spoken and one is written. As I said, I intended no direct accusation against the American use of English, but in certain things it makes a mockery of one of the most powerful languages on the planet. Ps, I'm from Yorkshire, and trust me, we are just about the laziest speakers in the UK, but if a dick like 'jenny' decides to pull someone up on their language skills then I enjoy making them look a twat lol |

Who cares about langauge. It's a man-made thing used for us to communicate. Anything used for communicating is equal to language.
Rjdjdifnfjfikssapwlenrh <---- As long as one person understands this then it is equal to any language. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk

Personally, I'm not sure who was responsible but I like our dating system. Take my birthday for example, January 23, 1980. It's pretty cool actually. Have you seen the movie the number 23? My birth date looks like this in our form 01-23. On January 23rd of 2003 I turned 23. I fit right into the #23 enigma. Lol...it's all fun and games, mate. I hope I just made correct usage of that word. Over here, mate is referred to as something you do rather than a friend. I most certainly don't feel as if though I'm making a mockery of what I feel is inherently my language. My ancestry is an English/Welsh/Native American mix. My last name is directly derived from King Llewellyn the Great. I only care about the language of love @Annelies

well the retardation of that jennys just keeps showing on every single post LOLOL
my sources say that you are an idiot! also there is not much point in posting this, since well the retard can't actually discern good from bad, and was somehow schooled (or however you guys say it) by me so he/she decided to block me ROFL thats why she keeps being dumb as ****... if someone cares to quote this for her to see fine, apparently she/he prefers to stick his/her head into the sand, then to deal with other people's opinion, and guys be carefull don't be to harsh to her/him or you will end up being blocked as well, it will culminate into him/her blocking everyone on the forum, anyway, i bet poor @japsander is already bocked, and @GregoryRasputin is next.

That's because it's just the way it is.
All I'm saying is our languages don't exist in nature. It's man-made. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
