Does anyone know if game if the game does not freeze with a self made backup.

What I mean is - I bought the game. If I have Multiman back it up to my HD and apply the Eboot patch from the first post will I have no issues? Or do I have to torrent the game I already bought....

Can anyone confirm this either way please?

It looks like there are several degrees of applying the fix; the result also seem to vary depending on which version of FFXIII-2 that you have.

1. Applying only the fix eboot.
It is believed that doing this will be enough for the Duplex version to work a.k.a. won't freeze at chapter 3. It is said that this will not be enough to patch the other version.

2. Applying the missing SPRX.
Do this after you've done [1] but the problem persists.

2'. Applying SPRX files from TB release.
I read one post that said that copying SPRX files from the TB release will solve the problem.

3. Applying many, many files.
See http://bbs.duowan.com/thread-27877501-1-1.html for further info (in Chinese, unfortunately). There are about 30+ files, and some are quite big (1GB++)Do this after you've done [2] but the problem persists.

Apparently you need to go all the way with 3 if you have the Multi-Asia version. Extra effort for the "undub" route ...

Thank you for this, but again, any word on a backup from a disk? (I am not sure if duplex or other versions are at all different from my US Gamestop copy.

Information is somehow a bit lacking on which version works & which fix works. Give it a few more days, maybe someone will post report with better details ... something like, "Hey I have this (insert version here) version, did apply the fix files from here (insert URL), and finished FXIII-2 last night! No freezes, no save file problems!" I hope ^^

You might want to wait for such a confimation, but it would probably be faster to just rip your copy, and then try by yourself the three steps I mentioned in the previous post. Who knows, you might only need to apply step 1 or 2, and not needed to DL extra Gigs (step 3).

I'm going to test out the duplex version with the eboot fix only first, just to test it out. I dunno if ill get to chapter 3 by anytime soon being that these games are like doing a college thesis.

Yes, working eboot!
I backuped my BLES-01269 FFXII-2 EU bluray on JB OFW3.41, apply eboot fix.
It freeze at some loading stages, so I apply the SPRX fix and working perfectly ever!

Freezes are fixed with the SPRX fix:

Freezes are caused by missing sprx and/or not fixed sprx 4files.
Maybe it won't freeze with original SPRX on CFW3.55, so try it out.

What are you saying that you played it and it didnt freeze? Did you apply the sprx fix or just eboot ?

Quick help guys, i just transferred ffx13-2 duplex , BLES01269, over with cuteftp but its not showing up on multiman, should i update my multiman cuz its outdated or is it something else why its not showing up on multiman? very weird?

@ynotrhyme - REfresh multiman and you should be able to see the game. If not access file manager and locate the BLES-01269 ID and navigate to the eboot and launch directly by clicking on da eboot
