I won't say they were ever nice/customer friendly, but they sure as well weren't so gung-ho about hurting their customers lives/investments/etc. It is really beyond me how people bought Vitas, or are planning on buying the next sony system.

There will have to be a FEW more of these announcements made before I even consider buying another playstation product, and not this "he's not part of the playstation side, but he's still the boss" sh*t. I am not saying Sony ever really cared about the customers feelings (every large corporation does not give a crap, really), but they did care for the money the customers spent on their products. Nowadays it seems Sony doesn't give a sh1t about the customer nor his cash. Hopefully with someone new at the helm things will get better.

Retarded decisions will always be retarded decisions. But the Playstation Brand sure has it's good things.

What they need now is to get as many franchises as they can, and made them "exclusives". That was the strategy taken by Ken Kutaragi, by which he made lots of firts party studios (the good ones, not the ****ty ones they have now) with their own lines of titles and sagas.

The level of enjoyment I received from the original PlayStation does not resemble the kindness of Sony's " warm heart".

I don't believe they were ever a nice company. They are the same as the rest, except they made good products. They still make good products today.

They sued Geohot and Graf_Chokolo, yes, I think that is a very bad thing, but they would have also sued two unsuspecting hackers back then had the circumstances been the same.

They are just another business trying to make a profit.

Indeed, business is business, they won't give me nothing for buying their products or stay loyal. I'm a mere customer, nothing more.

But they didn't cry so much with the so called "piracy topics" of the past eras. They release hardware revisions, yes, but they never took away features like they did in this era. In my point of view, Sony was nice by then, because they cared more about customers than the so called piracy, they were more concern about designing good producs, publishing good games and trying to keep franchises.

Now, that's not the case, nor will ever be like that again, as long as the PS slayer is still in the CEO chair.

I'm pretty sure if Sony was able to send firmware updates to the PS1/PS2, that they would have taken anti-piracy precautions... and would have removed features if they thought it was necessary.
