Not sure where to go with modding a 360 Elite

I just bought a 360 Elite 120 GB model, and have just taken it apart to attempt flashing the DVD drive. As it turns out, I have the Liteon dg-1602s-09c version 83850c dated August 2009. What do I need exactly to flash this thing? Can it be done without buying extra tools? And can it be JTAGed? If so, is it complicated? I never even touched a 360 up til today when I got this one. Thanks.

Edit: Scratch that manufacture date. It's actually July 2009. Not sure if this makes a difference.

Doesn't matter. Came to find out it needed RGH to be able to do anything. So I've had that done. Now looking to upgrade the hard drive, but not sure how to back up current content (if it's even possible) to transfer all the homebrew/games/saves/achievements to the new drive. I know almost nothing about 360 mods, such as upgrading the dash, or what the CPU key is, how to get it and use it.

I remember upgrading my old 20gb to a 120gb and at the time you could only go as high as whatever the biggest official drive was, follow this guide and you can't really go wrong

http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/con...-360-slim.html

Not really sure about the rest as I just use a hacked drive.

Good luck!

That guide uses Hddhackr, which I'm told I don't need since I have RGH. Apparently I can use any size or make and the set up is automatic as far as I know. My main concern is just saving the stuff off it.

I'm actually going to disassemble the hard drive case and replace the drive inside it with a bigger one. I wonder if I can use file manager in freestyle dash to copy all the content off.

as far as trophies etc go i have no idea about but what i did is run a usb hdd and freestyledash makes full use of it for storing game backups etc. no need for a larger internal with jtag/rgh

unlike ps3, all games run on fat32 drives just fine with rgh/jtag when you convert iso's etc into GOD (games on demand) format
xbla games also run fine from external, as far as internal goes im not sure but i think DLC must be installed there and thats it

Well, my system's got a 120 GB drive, but I have more than enough Rock Band DLC to fill it up. Is there any way to run DLC from external, like redirect Content folder on internal to a folder on an external?
