Interesting article.
This guy is a beast. Honestly, had I been in his position, I think I'd of tossed the controller and used one of my generic USB-controllers until I could acquire myself a nice Dualshock 3. As some of you know, I am not the most adequate person when it comes to handling hardware -- especially as delicate as the insides of a PS3 controller. This is why I never bothered with hardware flashers. Good thing I am a patient person and have found "inner-peace" in waiting for cheaper, software-based methods. Anyways, good job! |

Clever lad. I have a broken PS3 controller, but it was soaked with cola and the board is DOA. I surely know my way around a soldering station and multimeter. I've spent hours on PS2 boards. I still have the PS3 controller though as the battery is the only thing that was producing a current. Having some spare parts often comes in handy and it looks like it did for sjm4306.

Not true, nothing is truly dead till you have tried everything. For example my friends gaming pc ran into a bit of bad luck with a glass of milk and i managed to get it to live again after three weeks of work on it. My point is just don't give up and think out side the box and it might just live.

1.) I am a news writer here, i post what is interesting.
2.) Many people on this forum have PS3's. 3.) many people on this forum have PS3 Control pads. 4.) Many of those control pads may be near to ceasing to exist and, this article could be very helpful to them. 5.) The article is quite educational.

1) He modded his PS3 controller and not with some simple swapping shells mod.
2) This is a PS3 scene site that covers modding the PS3. (go back and start at #1 if you're still confused). |
