Yeah and hacking a security system in a video game system to allow you to play illegally copied games which you are then illegally copying is totally legit, no?

First of all we own our hardware and we dont care what $ony et al say, we'll do with it what we want!
Second, hacking a console it what hackers do to see what else they can do with the console, push it further or add features to it.

Yeah, and they export Opium and live in tents. There are a few select English speaking countries that allow personal backups and modchips (like Canada), but in most of the English speaking World including the USA and most of the UK modding is illegal and so are backups and don't even start with the "I have 2 ps3's" jazz ... like every single MP3, PC game, Movie or PS3 game you've paid for - and that's why you're on a site dedicated to hacking the PS3.
