Hi i have a problem with my ps3.
Last year my gf son, played metal gear 4 on my 3.55 kwmea ps3 (loaded from hdd with a game disk inside) Everything was t fine no problems at all. after he finished we packed the ps3 on a box and never used it again.
3 months ago i wanted to play monster hunter 1 (never played the game) on my ps3 and the ps3 didn't detect the blue ray drive, so i opened the ps3 and removed the disk. and i even changed the ribbon cable.
The thing is that the ps3 doesn't detect the bue ray drive on the dashboard i don't even get a light .(can this be fixed?) i never had any problem with the drive, it used to read the ps1-ps2-ps3 games really fast.

Anyway i have converted my original ps2 monster hunter to a iso, that i tested on pcsx2 and it runs fine. BUT i want to play it on my ps3 so i can have my saves available in ps2 format.
So my question is.
Is there a way for a JB 60gb 3.55 with multiman ps3(with a broken BD) RUN a ps2 iso from HDD?
I'm completely out of the loop with ps3 Scene (and psp also lol) .

PS i don't want to buy a dongle just to run one game

There is no way to play ps2 iso files without a Cobra dongle.

Connect your controller to your PC (If its bluetooth compat) and play the game through the ps2 emulator. If you connect your pc up to you tv (with hdmi) it will be just like playing the ps3/2/1.

As for your bluray problem, Do a search, The answer is practiacly everywhere.

Open PS2 can be loaded on a 60GB with swap magic, but it has to be a legit disc of swap magic with the USB option to load, i think it was 3.6 pro or 3.8 version.

That´s correct only SM 3.6+ and SM 3.8 coder had usb loading.

You could also open up the ps3 and load an original ps2 game disc and then switch with a burned copy of SM. this procedure has some risk. you have to wait about 8.5 minutes for the original game to stop spinning before you switch with the backup or you can burn out the laser.
Actually using this process you don´t even need SM, you can just switch with a backup of the game you want to play.

Openps2loader on the ps3 runs at usb 1.1 speeds. unfortunately that makes the cutscenes and movies run unbearably slow.
Open ps2loader also let you load iso from your PCs hard drive with SMB. I didn´t notice much difference in speed on my 60gb PAL PS3.
The 60gb PAL ps3 model is gimped with no EE chip.

I heard it ran better through SMB on the Full BC ps3 models(60gb and 20gb NTSC models) though.

ya this was like the 1st breatkthrough on the ps3. the BC models anyway.

I guess that´s all been thrown out the window now and they´re going with PS cvlassics on PSN and maybe cload gaming in the future?
