unrii (C) 2012 by naehrwert This tool will unpack the Riivolution boot.elf payload (easy to find if you load the ELF in IDA . The last release of Riivolution was in september 2010, so I guess it's ok to release this unpacker now (as I'm not quite sure if the packing was meant as obfuscation or for compression only). Anyways, happy reversing! PS: A little hint: the payload for the latest version starts with 5E DD 76 EB...

Riivolution is a Wii thing, is it not? I do not think this is for the PS3, otherwise I would have posted it hours ago elsewhere.

Yeah, Riivolution is a game patcher for the wii, to be used with retail discs. It can be used for custom textures, custom musics, translations and a lot of other things.

Managed to use this tool on the payload but I am no good at reversing a binary. I can't find the right entry points to reveal all of the assembly. Though once it is all revealed it should be easy to convert back to C code. Just you won't know what the code does due to lack of proper naming. I'm sure someone would get it though.
