PSP 3000 CFW help

Ok so I got a "Refurbished" PSP from Gamestop, 6.60 FW.

I would love to know if I still need a pandoras battery to Get CFW on it.

Here: http://wololo.net/installing-pro-cfw...000-psp-brite/ It says nothing about a pandoras battery and I am not sure...

No pandora for 3000, you could use 6.60 PRO or ME CFW, however, take note that it cannot be made permanent, that means permanently flashed, it will get bricked if you try permanently flashing the system. Use PRO and Fast Recovery to get the job done for CFW as far as the 3000 goes.

You can't brick a PSP 3000 or a newer 2000 with a pandora because the PSP will not start with it period. All you will get is a green led and nothing else. No way to brick it that way.

You did not say anything on that topic.

I highly suggest the OP uses something to check what the lowest firmware he can downgrade to. 6.20 Has a permanent patch version that is safe for "unhackable" psps.

We already told you. Pandora batteries will never work (Datel was going to release one that worked on PSP 3000's called the Lite Blue Tool, but they got sued into submission by Sony). Reason being is the Pre-IPL has not been cracked and is secured as well. If it is overwritten (such is the case with the pandora + MMS method), then you will get a nice shiny paperweight.

The only way to run an exploit and use PRO LCFW. Then you can run the PSPident tool to check if you have a PSP that is a 3g model.

6.60 Pro CFW can be found here: http://pspslimhacks.com/lcfw-6-xx-pro-b10-released/
You can find PSPident here: http://psp.dashhacks.com/downloads/pspident-0742
Downgrader for 6.60 to lower firmwares: http://pspslimhacks.com/6-xx-downgrader-v4-released/

As a warning: DO NOT USE HELLCAT'S RECOVERY FLASHER!! It is not meant to be used on "unhackable" PSPs.

Mind you, I have been away from the PSP Scene for quite some time now. I still have a 3k and a white star wars 2k PSP laying around.
I am not quite sure what other PSPs can downgrade to 6.20, but the 03g 3000 and all 2000s can. 04g I think is the PSP go, which can downgrade to 6.20. Downgrading will not require hardware of any sort. It's all software.

4g is actually the 2nd series PSP3000, PSPgo is 5g, both of which can freely downgrade to 6.20
9g TA95v1 PSP 3ks can be converted to a 4g using Chronoswitch 5f (here,) though 9g TA95v2 PSP3ks have had issues with updating out of 6.20 and downgrading back to 6.20 a 2nd time after using Chronoswitch. 9g PSP 3ks also suffer from a sleep mode glitch while in 6.20. Frostgater released a fix for the sleep glitch (here,) though it sounds like it doesn't help everyone.
If you've got a 9g, it may be better to play it safe and stay on 6.60 with Pro-C

PSPident 0.75 is more recent
See here

And Pro-B10 is out-of-date. Pro-C fix 3 is the most recent.
get it here

Thanks, been away from this scene too long....

Is PRO-C official, or is it now opensource and those builds are no longer by the original Pro team?
