Use the min. Version checker pup, to know if you can downgrade. If you haven't figured that out by now.

So, did it work out or not? I have the same version PS3, but was not part of a bundle, and it was 3.55 OFW at the time of buying. Let me know plz

Why bump an old thread. Especially when the answer to your question is there.

Use Minimum version checker PUP. If it says 3.56 or lower, you can jailbreak your PS3 with a hardware flasher.

You're right, i did and it said 3.40 so i guess im OK.
Is it possible that consoles that do not come factory to 3.55 can be downgraded?
e.g. If i buy another console which has 4.30 or so, would it downgrade?
