I currently own 1 PS3 on OFW and do not plan on purchasing another for CFW due to the fact that personally I do not find any of the homebrew useful other then Showtime, but I have a HTPC for that and a XBOX1 for emulators (the current batch of emulators around for the PS3 need heavy work before they surpass the quality of of 20+ offered for the XBOX1). Besides, the only games for the PS3 I play are the ones I buy as the current batch I mainly dislike. However, I see your point.

Well that makes things worse:

1) Why didnt Billy make and sell the toy himself and make a tonne of money? He could have partnered with someone who could make dongles if he couldnt himself.

2) Why give the info to someone else for free but not anyone else. He should share the info with everyone, not just one person who's ripping others off with it.

Billy in this case is the worst businessman in history!


This is the point about TB and the other dongle makers, they took most of the work other devs did, who released it for free for everyone to use, then TB come along, use all that info, add a little of their work, then sell dongles.
They dont give the other devs who did most of the work a penny, and they sure as hell are not helping the scene, they are in fact killing it!

If people cannot see that then they are just selfish greedy jerks! They got what they wanted, which was to pirate games, and dont care about the rest of the scene who want good homebrew apps.

You have to realise that it's the devs who want homebrew that hack the consoles and other devices. Once they do that, then it's the dev who are interested in piracy who use that work to enable piracy. It's just that TB are now demanding money off you.
So why should the dev who hack the consoles for homebrew continue when dongle makers try to profit from that work, and then these retarded dongle-lovers think that the dongle-makers are the ones doing all the work and it's normal for them to "ask" for money for "their" work?!

By paying for these DRM dongle, these people are feeding the cancer which is in this scene!
Ask yourselves, why dont we have cfw 3.60 or anything above?

So the main thing to take away from this is that you can play the newer games AND homebrew AND the dongle ******s are dead in the water. Of course people who do nothing but pirate might not find it as awesome (yet)

hey, screw it....IMHO even if this doesn't allow 3.60+ backups EVER, at least we have the option to buy 3.60+ games and run them now....that's better than never being able to run them at all, IMHO Would it really kill any of us who pirate games (you know you all do it....don't lie lol) to buy one or two used games that we really want to play so badly?? After all the free content I've gotten, I know it wouldn't really bother me that much. And I'd far rather support the game devs than some scumbag thief scene dev who just wants to profit from someone else's work!

I've only bought 2 new 3.56+ games, Udraw for the tablet and Assassin's Creed Revelations, dont have an Xbox so had to get it for the PS3.

Obviously I will also be buying Assassin's Creed 3 when that comes out later this year, but apart from that I wont be buying any other $ony product.

As @GregoryRasputin said, even if this doesnt bring anything for the rest of us, if it stops the dongles we'll still be happy about it.

^^^ as i said it doesn't fully stop dongles, but it hurts them, i believe they should have more up their sleeve.
