Nice, I can't say but in the back of my mind the phrase "ok, we just got what some -underground- people were doing for atleast a year and a half, now we can hope in like 5 years for a lv0 compromise". I'm torn between saying "yeah yeah yeah, whatever" and "better late than never" which isn't a good sign.

No one really has the answers other then the developers who have DEX consoles. This thread is full of theories, speculation and misinformation (example being Pocket's posts which some have been debunked or parts confirmed by people like DeanK) from people that don't know what they are talking about or haven't even even converted their consoles to answer the simple questions. This entire thread is a mere showoff of the spread of speculatory information from people who haven't converted their PS3.

No offense, but until I see people running DEX's with results I am inclined to ignore any information in this thread. The leaker of the information has been kind enough to provide steps that may not even work correctly or render parts of or your entire console useless - so have fun!

Not sure if this was mentioned at all, but this really doesn't stop "Dongles". All this will stop is the work that some developers were doing behind the scenes or hinder their progress until they get a proper / legit debug. To be daft enough to say this will stop dongles is hilariously sad. The people behind the dongles have made more than enough to get their own proper debugs, they still have access to the servers with the debug eboots, they still have every last thing they did before. This release only messes with the real developers =\. Sure anyone can use it now, but anything after 4.21 can not not really be worked on without the developers getting a proper debug, which takes time and money and yet another amount of "Why do I even bother?". I wanted to stay away from this topic, but my god. Use your brains ffs.

i wasnt aware that we were getting anything for post 3.5x so why should 4.21 affect anyone?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. The real developers who are invisible and have had, from more than one persons admission and words, this knowledge and soooooooooooooooooooooo much more for months on end?

You lot need educating on the definition of developer, and you will find it is NOT an elite (read as infantile and pathetic), group of people who think they are above everyone else.

Just admit the garbage about 4.21 and higher is just you lot sulking and has ZERO to do with the community you lie so well about when you say you support it.

the iso.bin.edat work was on higher firmwares. That release alone can do psp, ps1 and ps2 games with little work. Someone just needs to actually go do it now. I know a few other developers were slowly releasing stuff on higher firmwares as well, or just for research.

I've released stuff lately, I don't have a debug nore do I want one. I don't support piracy, nore do I care for it. If you use the tools released to do so, good for you, I could care less. (the iso.bin.edat stuff does, but I only have legit games, yet I still released it). I'm not on a high horse, I'm not bigger than anyone. Also, if anyone looked around I've said time and time again, that i'm not a developer. I'm just a guy that is given things to help other people. For this matter you DO need to use your brain. Sorry that I made it logical .

So this enables homebrew.. and debugging functions (as it's a DEX) but does not allow piracy of post-3.60 games.. so this is pretty much exactly what the developers claim to support.. yet now it is released they are pissed.. hmm?
