Hello, never hacked/jailbroke a PS3 in my life, yep a complete noob, and before I go through all the tutorials and such I'd like to know a few things.

First of all: If I do jailbreak my PS3 would I be able to 'easily' cheat on games?
second: I have an active subscription to netflix, will I still be able to use it on PS3
third: would I be able to use a program such as cheat engine or artmoney on PS3 games.

Gotta love sites like these, everyone is harsh on noobs lol..

But online cheating isn't what I'm going for.

I'd just like to mess around on single player games (such as titles from Koei)

OP = Original Poster, FW = FirmWare (if you can play online you are on the latest one), and more importantly what does it say on the sticker at the back of your console? CECH etc?

I went derping in my PS3 it said "system software 4.10" is that what you need?

edit2: only sticker I have on the back is a serial code :O

You need to find out if it's a 3000 series (the numbers after the CECH code on the sticker behind your PS3)...because if it is, you won't be able to downgrade as the original factory firmware is greater than 3.55 and that = no CFW/jailbreaking for now.

Sad to say, but looks like you are out of luck with the 3001 code, and even if you could downgrade you would need to do it using hardware and opening up your console, with maybe even some soldering.
