Squarepusher, how does this leak affect you?
If you cannot update to a newer DEX FW will it affect your ability to code for 3.55?
If CFW 4.50 materialized in a few months would being stuck on 4.20 DEX FW impede your ability to code for it?
So far I've seen people who aren't releasing stuff that a DEX would be used for (if anything) whining about it.. under the guise of them caring about people bricking.

Let's not forget folks that this is in keeping with the spirit of "scenes", release all info you have AFAIC. I'm pretty sure I'll have a DEX machine going soon, if @Pockets69 will hand-hold me through the conversion process

Hey, since DEX machines don't have BD movie playback, would it not make sense to make Showtime versions compatible with DEX FW, IE., fselfed eboots. If I had a machine I could 1) update to latest FW to play retail discs 3.60+ 2) downgrade via software to 3.55 to play backups <=3.55 I would be happy as hell. In fact, you can downgrade to <=3.15 Debug and have Linux right from XMB. This is the best leak in the PS3 history.

I'm still on 3.66 DEX - I don't need anything higher and I think modern-day PS3 games suck anyway - so it doesn't really affect me. I don't care about PSN - I never log on there, I don't want to play games with dumb teenage kids venting on Ventrillo - so again, I'm in the 'meh doesn't affect me' boat. This might be different of course for 'wonder devs' that need some time off from their very taxing programming chores where the memory leaks crash them back into the XMB and so they have some spare time to do some PSN gaming.

Besides, I couldn't go any higher than 3.55 firmware features anyway because CFW PS3s would not support it - so 3.55 SDK would always be the cutoff point.

Yeah, all of that is nepotism and bull. The only thing they cared about was hoarding this thing for as long as possible so they could reap the fruits - doesn't have a damn thing to do with 'development' for the 'scene'.
