well i have a cech-2501A slim model of the ps3 just wondering if its compatible to downgrade ? im thinking of buying a hardware flasher but what site can i trust to buy it to arrive ok ?

Instead of E3 you could use a progskeet. Then if you don't want to solder just buy a clip. As I'm in the UK and wanted to avoid high import fees.

ok thanks ! im hoping to go back to 3.55 from 4.20 lol i had a fat ps3 but when i upgraded on recoverymode on a jailbroken ps3 it ylod on me lol.

What is the date code? Look at the manufacturing date on the black sticker on the bottom of the console.

Not all CECH-2501a models are downgradable. If the manufacturing date is Dec. 2010 or earlier you are good. If it is Jan., Feb., or March 2011 then it is not for sure.

Use min version checker pup to know for sure, that your console can go as low as 3.55.

@cloudx If your going to downgrade you don't need to buy ps3Key jig if your psp in on CFW

i have tested this on 3 phat psp's and have never had success and there has been alot of negative feed back from others on vairious websites to. so its not really practicle telling ppl to do this anymore. just buy a usb dev board or see the other options in my thread.
