If I may I'd like to add one more thing to the list of ethical standards for proper news posting I've posted above. I'm sure you're away of the five W's (who, what, when, where and why) and these five pieces of information are necessary to post an accurate news article.

What is not included in that list is the "O" for "opinion". Your personal views on the subject matter are in no way, shape or form news and insert biased into your news basically making it null and void. I am not making this up as I am well versed in journalistic methodology.

You must stay objective and if you are going to include opinions then seek out one or more from experts dealing with the subject and only the subject at hand and use theirs to help your readers better understand the topic of your post. Using opinions from others to spin off topic to insert bias regarding your own personal opinions on the matter at hand or something related should also be avoided.

Following these simple guidelines can help PS3HAX's stance in regards to quality of the news and also keep trolls away from your thread as you're not feeding them opinionated/biased articles in which they thrive to troll in.

There should be many publications available at your local book store starting from general journalism to advanced psychology on how to use your publications as a tool to better yourself and others. This is something desperately needed in the PS3 scene.

My posting of news is fine, its quality is fine and i do not post biased articles, i do post opinionated articles, but if opinions are distasteful, perhaps you should join a Nazi forum or some sort of forum that has a dictatorship and does not allow opinion....

Gregory I think you took my advice a little too personally. I have no problem with personal opinions, but regarding journalistic standards they do not belong in news articles as they degrade the overall quality of the poster and the reputation of the source (print, web, etc..).

However, an editorial is another story and surely do include on or more opinions by the author. So per say if I posted news about a new homebrew and said how useless it is in the news post that would be disregarding standards (this is the same as posting about a new dongle and saying dongles suck - regardless if they do).

One more example then I take leave;

HEADLINE: Over the weekend a man in Arizona discharged his firearm using ammunition that is advertised to leave a "trail of fire" behind it. The round landed in brush which ignited causing a wildfire that has destroyed dozens of homes and displaced hundreds of citizens.

HEADLINE w/BIAS: An idiot in Arizona shot a shotgun shell that leaves a trail of fire in it's wake into some brush that started a really freaking big fire. The fire has destroyed a bunch of homes of idiots who built them in an area where large fires are common. Also, a lot of people have been forced out of their house because of this idiot. Guns are bad and should be outlawed.

Sure, the second one might sound "cool" or even thought of as "appropriate" at the time, but is by far not neutral and will be looked down upon by people who want accurate concise news without personal bias, will be used by trolls for food to post a load of crap and the very week minded actually might base their opinion on the post using the biased content the author included.
