The kicker is your PSP has to be on 5.50. Mine is on 5.50 GEN D. This is probably why you could not get it to work.

There is other free options, if you have a compatible device. Like a ti calculator, ipod 3g, smartphone, etc....
Look here to find out if you have a device that will work.

If you don't, I would suggest the e3 card reader. I have seen some sites selling them for as low as $9.99.

yep i was on 5.50 and on screen it was always saying what it should (i forget now what it was) but i tested 3 diff psp's with this and never had success (many many hours)

That is strange. I have used mine on a hundred PS3s with no problem.

i think its hit & miss with the psp's. some work some dont. so due to this its not a fool proof service emulator.
anyway we can be at this all week so lets just agree to disagree on this one lol.

LOL!! I wasn't trying to disagree. I was sharing my experiences. I wasn't telling anyone to use a psp, if they don't want. If you look at my post I was giving a ton of options for a downgrade dongle.

The link I give has free options if you have one of the Calculators, Smartphones, Portable media players, Gaming Handhelds, Internet Tablets and GPS navigation devices on that list. That is a lot of options.
