Cant get back to OFW3.55

Hi guys,

I'm trying to go back to OFW3.55 but when in recovery mode, after hitting select+start, it gets stuck at 99% of preparing for update.

Things used to work fine.. but the other day my blueray stopped reading disks so I did open it up and changed the lens for one i got on ebay, but must have messed something up as now when you turn the PS3 the drive makes some weird noise.

¿Could it all be due to the drive? Any way of getting it to ignore the drive?

You wont be able to use any homebrew without at least a working, married blueray logic connected.

If it was working and you recently tried to work on it, you may have not plugged something in. Check the ribbon cable and plug for your drive.

If it still fails, your logic board may be the problem. You will need to get a new one and marry it to your mobo.

If you install Rogero CFW, it will bypass the check for the drive and you will be able to get a firmware installed. But apps and PSN games will not work.

Thanks. I have connected the married logic board by itself and the blue light is now always on. System update still gets stuch at 99% of preparing update. Have tried to go straight to rogero cfw 3.4 as well but same issue. So maybe not the drive after all?

Try and connect your hdd to your pc. Format it to fat32. Then put it back into your ps3 and follow the on screen instructions.

Or if you have another hdd, try and use that one.
