@Pockets69
That is very true, I have a slim or I would have tried this already. So now I sit and wait. If do install the Linux now to get my per-console key, Will I lose my hard drive data? Because if so I will start now pulling everything off.

I think I just figured out what the big deal is with this DEX possibility for all end-users: For those that are smart and care about the scene, this *does* eliminate the need for dongles/flashers; you can freely move up and down in firmware versions while on a DEX, so you update to 4.20 DEX, do what you want with newer games. etc., then downgrade back to 3.55 (and even go back to CEX if you want). It means we can own the console again, and no one can dictate what you do with it. The backlash seems to be evenly divided between "This screws it up for us, the 1337, because sony will patch future updates" and "OH NOES WE CAN'T CONTROL THE SCENE NOW"

@svenmullet
, well i can tell you something then:
request_idps.txt contains numbers and letters that don't make any sense inside. HOWEVER, they have one particularity : the letters there are from A to F. so, you think : "wait a minute, this might be hex..." so, the next logical step you'd do would be to grab all that text , create a new binary of size 0, and put the text there on the hex section. then you'll find something else. the first digits of the right part in HxD contain something. that is the serial number of the console. this is what i know at least... the rest i haven't been able to figure out

![]() [edit] Also, I recall theorizing that the serial number (yes, that sticker on the console) has something to do with PCK. All we need now is some brainiac to figure it all out (and release the info)

lot's of good info lately, almost to much
![]() this tool works great, like zecoxao, verify against hand-made one or example, good if u do by hand though to know what ur doing searched around a bit on things....dex2cexkit/os3sig, still up, they might be usefull , there's also a "drivefix" folder so the blu-ray brick after cex2dex can be fixed with this? needs to incl 3.30 DEX pup thops: can a converted cex2dex go <=lower the "factory firmware" let's say 3.50 checked with MinverCHK? good info @svenmullet , powerfull tool there, about request_idps.txt the first leak http://www.scribd.com/doc/76930839/Readme one needed that guy for the "request_idps" then from this http://pastebin.com/8Y8aFLSh is the provided "request_idps.txt" + 2 more idps.txt files the one required, i'm guessing not? each one is different, but can we do it on our own instead of needing this guy ![]() and for dumps, there's no differents in let's say from 355 rogero make a dump with dump_flash.pkg/memdump final/E3 flasher(byte reverse it first) the dumps are identical great stuff lately..we like thx everyone!! ![]() EDIT @TizzyT ok, i've seen another quote, must look it up that a dex can go to any dex firmware defeating the cex min capable? running atleast i read it like that... these days one isn't to sure what and who to trust huh, let's play,try for ourselfs right, with hardware flasher it can be repaired..no harm done..and i think it has many features to play.afterall its all for the fun right!! but like 3.73DEX isn't find anywhere..also for a reason? after reading up those pasties, it all gets clear somehow bit by bit, funny scene tho and a little sad..yes haha

Go where? And yes the drivefix folder is needed. Just look at original (old) cex2dex.
