What do you say @greg are you willing to start being pro-active. You wanna start up a thread and start learning c++ from the beginning. Im willing to stick at it if you are and I think we could do better if we had someone there to hold our hand. I think I already know the answer and the reason why but its worth asking don't you think. |

Every scene that I had follow previously was made for enthusiasts, by enthusiasts... EVERY SINGLE ONE. Pray tell, when did this metamorphosis come to pass? I don't really blame the entire dev community for this, nor do I blame them for not releasing every single thing, if they in fact are doing it to prevent the 1 mill bricks that half-knowledge will surely bring about (though I sort of agree with @MRDOTB that it is their responsibility, I disagree that they are necessarily idiots though). If in fact devs withhold knowledge for the reasons many seem to fear, then I think their anger is completely justified, I for one will try not to hold anybody in such contempt for the time being (if I know who is behind drm dongles without a doubt that will change) and I think it's not right for us to let our imaginations run wild with our accusations and our assumptions, or even worst with the generalizations. All devs aren't a$$holes, all non-dev sceneres aren't d*chebags. |

Just think...
About 6 months ago, all the info needed to get the lv0 keys have been posted on wiki, TB just get this info end recrypted eboot + patchs do alow newer games to be played on 3.55.
4.20 OFW have some new libs implemented, to run a 4.20 game on 3.55 we need to recrypt the ebbot and make a "patch fix" to add the new libs recrypted too, some of this libs stay on the dildo, because they will conflict with the native libs on the console. All this info are there to every1 read, just need to pay attention, the problem is that every1 wants just a PKG that will alow to play my new pirated games, no1 wants to work on it... Sorry my bad english. |

If you choose to go and try CEX->DEX, then you are on your own. Read very carefully because if you were warned, it's not treason.
Once you get your knowledge right, then and only then you can adventure in trying what you want. I think knowledge is supposed to be free for everyone. But I agree with most of the devs when they don't want some information to be public, as it was explained lots of times over these forums. It's a step backwards when you release an exploit and you don't have an alternative under your sleeve, because we all know Sony patches it as soon as it hits the Internet (yes, Sony lurks arround PS3HaX). Thus, the information should be release, always, but when the time is appropriate. Regarding the devs, I've never bashed nor complained about them (except Mathieulh for his childish attitude of "look what I can do and you can't"). I'm with them if their possition is to stand and keep the exploits for themselves while they are working to achieve things. What I'm against is some devs (I don't know who they are, but we know they exist) that sell themselves to the dongle makers, thus going against their main ethic principle: "not doing nor enabling piracy". The moral of a person lets you choose in doing something that could be good or bad to the people or not. The ethics states that, as a professional or expert in the matter, you should go further in your research/develop or not and do something else. Finally, if the devs complain about the leaks, then they don't keep their research secure enough. They know very well how to keep the secrets, and if they don't, then they deserve all of this (they are not stupid people that make such stupid mistakes). If you want to make profit from it, fine, do it, but do the research all on your own from the beginning without using what was released in good faith for the benefit of the community. |
