It would help to know your model #. I have found that some fat PS3s are more sensitive, with getting the heat sinks to make good connection with the chips.

Or even if it is a slim and you have to much on top of the clip to try and get a permanent press onto the chip.

Basically if the CPU and GPU are not flush with the heat sinks, and have thermal compound applied correctly, your PS3 will not boot.

Try pressing the power button not the eject button.

Seriously though, does it boot if you uninstall the flasher?
Try and reseat the clip and make sure the motherboard is not being flexed by whatever you are holding the clip on with.

@carldenning
You can downgrade without the hard drive connected. It just boots to the screen that says it cant find the hdd.

best thing to put on the clip is something that can be pushed down while tighten up the 4 screws, a coin on top i never used if one used a little to much/high, u can feel see it when screwing the aluminium topcover back on. gently screw down kruislings/crossway? lol..so its not liften to much on 1 side, evenly pushed down like that

did u clipped it 180 degrees?, on left topside of NOR chip is small dot that's the top, always clip E3 with ribbon facing down that small dot.

clip is lame, if u take the time it works each single time tho, and if u go by playerkp420, u can flash a couple with it hahah

goodluck
