@dlbogdan ,

try this:

How to QA Flag your PS3, the button combo:
Be on 3.55 OFW (no rebug), download here.
Move the PS3 cursor/select “Network Setting“
Punch the following button combo with your PS3 controller: L2 + L1 + R1 + R2 + L3 + D-pad Down
Thats it, the “Edy Viewer”, “Debug Settings”, “Install Package” Menu will now appear.

@luqi

Nothing happened (then again I'm not really on OFW am I? )

I'll just try the DEX firmware in a few moments after I make a backup of my linux partition.

ok let me clear somethings up!

1. THIS DOES WORK, and i could not of got it done without the help of a certain person. i wont say his name just incase he dont want to be botherd.

2. you CAN run backups with a dex! i just tested this myself.

3. wait for a better solution, im sure it will come, this took me a good 8 hours straight to get this going.

Regarding 2: HOW do you run them? Did you do it with that USB Emulation (I think it was something like that) or with Multiman or how...?

Regarding 3: I'm also sure there will be an easier solution.
And considering the importance and progress that's been made with this release/leak I'm sure (or at least hope) that we won't have to wait too long for a "Noob-Safe" solution! :D

for the curious ones into making this a simpler task, there's two things i'll mention.

first thing is the self found on the wiki. dump_eid_root_key.self

the second is the lspwn package made by adrianc.

i guess those two would make an excelent key dumper when combined
