that is strange.
I'll check a few things and get back to you.

edit: I checked.

It should work (in theory all the files needed are there..) the problem might lie in the way you paritioned your drive.
I can't really retest it myself because I'm on 4.11 DEX and have no clue about how to reprep for OtherOS.

just give me a PM with your messenger id and maybe we can work something out.

Thumbs up

it could be a little frustrating at times hehe.... but really one should read up on things, yup including me it's easy to just ask instead of getting of ur lazy ass
start from page 1 and read full TOPIC..always... sometimes it's to much info..put it down for awhile..use a txt file cp important info and move on..we all need the help somewhere..no problems right..we are to help each other, linux can be a pain in the butt at first after setting up it a couple times it's easy..like all things right..don't give in..sometimes kick the keyboard a little..roll one and move on again..rewarded if things work out.

for anyone interested, here's a small video-guide "manual ubuntu install using Putty from PC" - (xvid 94mb)

these are al over youtube anyway

the errors are nothing to worry about. i forgot to exclude them .
there can be a problem with attribute preservation in windows though....
you should extract with linux (ubuntu live for example)

Could some kind person explain why this conversion method doesn't work with NAND, and possibly some clues on how to do it manually (with NAND)? I have an old CECHG01 that works perfectly, but lost BD movie playback ages ago, seems like a perfect candidate for a DEX machine.
-something to do with bl being "masked" on NAND consoles, but there are workarounds, right?
-offsets are different on NAND, how would one adjust them properly?
-any other help

Thanks in advance, and thanks to all the awesome people who helped with this in the first place.

Thanks for all the infos you give.
But i want ask a question to you or anybody who can help.
I'm a noob and a lot of things have been said about this method
so sorry if the answer of my 2 questions are evident but :

This method work for all firmware or only the one on 3.55 (and before) ?
Do you need a blu ray working since you need a dvd to boot linux ?

you must be 3.55 CEX to start this.
you don't need bd working. you can use a usb flash drive or even an external dvd-rw unit.

Thanks for the super quick answer.
Too bad for people stuck on 3.56 and after, this method could give us something in the future (software solution to downgrade for example) or nothing ?
