i also can confirm the standard lv1/lv2 patches and otheros patches from ps3mfw work for dex mfw. the only patch i tested which does not work is lv1checks off. these do not work for dex obviously, or may need some modification.

mMCM also works fine with applied patches.

i have used the patches from euss's ps3mfw git btw

is @TechnoDon guide missing the gparted bit in petitboot cause when I tried to install red ribbon it says "no space reserved for install, cannot continue".

And @bleh guide, is it supposed to take a really long time to install debian. And then im hit with tasksel error at "part2 #6 - tasksel install standard".

Any suggestions please?

Yeah, 1st I tried your guide, hit taskel error, then technodon, hit the cant install error, then the original guide and hit error with make menuconfig. Im not having much luck.

I admit im a noob when it comes to linux but im not to shabby at following instructions, and I do google for solutions but always seem to get stuck.

I guess you have 3.55 dex or could ps3mfw be used with 4.11 dex?

I think in the end we will be switching between 3.55mfw/dex (which would be patched to work exactly like old 3.55) and 4.11 original dex

Does this work out of the box for dex?

Could you confirm?

It would be perfect to have two dex firmwares switchable that fast (I'm using this trick to switch between 3.55 and 3.55.2 rebug).

I'd use Linux for everything apart from c2d.exe by andbey0nd.
I and a couple others bricked (we've got flashers so OK)
Trying to work out what is happening with gameos tools to screw it up.

Just to clarify, I would not use memtool to dump or any gameos flashing software.
