or does it require the original flash dump to be reflashed?


edit: also for those wondering, tried twice to run a game from bdemu, no luck in getting it to show up, so havent tried it with a BDR yet, i will get around to trying again sometime soon

for those who converted their consoles why cant u guys make a youtube video for us so we could get ours done i mean are u guys so into trying to play the latest games u cant help?.....come on a gd quality vidoe of the whole process would help alot of noods/users here.

Yes, as far as i know, you need to reflash.

for the game to show up you need to have the hdd inserted in the righmost usb when the ps3 is shut down and have the USB emu set in debug menu.

damn, still deciding if i want to convert mine or not, been working with a mate on his one.

as for the bdemu, had all the settings and what not fine, but we didnt have it in the right most port, i will test it again with him during the day after he finishes work.

There are two easy to follow guides by bleh and technodon and people are helping a lot - don't understand why you are still complaining ...

for example: grab the guide by technodon and send me a message of the part you are unable to do ..

I just forgot to write it in my question.


This is the part I am unsure about:

dd if=cexnor.bin

Since I have linux running from a usb drive and not the internal hdd

do I just type:

dd if=cexnor.bin of=/dev/ps3nflasha bs=1024

Or do I have to type something like:

dd if=/mnt/sdda1/root/cexnor.bin of=/dev/ps3nflasha bs=1024


Edit: I have already converted to debug I am wanting to convert back to retail.

@butnut : can't help there sorry, not a linux guru myself and running from internal, just passing what worked

but i don't get it if u have already flashed dex via linux, same external setup, its just the same right as u did with the dexnor.bin u wrote back earlier

btw...BD fix'd, no need to fix anything, if Retail games plays no need for "drivefix"

When I flashed dex via linux It was installed to the internal hdd.

Now I am on 3.55 dex patched for OtherOS++

and I can install petitboot but I can't create regions because the firmware uses the whole drive for gameos instead of 1/2 gameos and 1/2 otheros

So i installed linux to the external usb.
