DEX Questions?

I've been reading all of this stuff about converting CEX to DEX and then I just read something that was front paged about running backups on 3.6+ DEX machines and now I have some questions.
I have a PS3 4.20 Slim, can I convert it to DEX. And can I run backups on it?
I'm kind of a noob with this stuff so yeah

You can't even begin to think about CEX2DEX until you are at 3.55 FW.

Start with downgrading 1st.

Hi hows things..

I've been trying to get information on converting to DEX. Mainly because my PS3 has been gathering dust for months and I want to play with it.

I remember reading about memdump a few weeks back http://www.ps3hax.net/2012/05/released-memdump-v0-01/...

So this can dump my nand then I can use the cex2dex option on Gunner54's app to create a custom flash?

Do I then just flash that back to the nand?

Gunner used preloader to dump the custom flash back to the nand.. Does anybody have any experience with this? Do I have to be on JFW-DH to use it?..

What happens after I flash the nand do I have to install a DEX firmware?

Do I have to extract me root key from the metldr and do something with it..

sorry about all the questions but any help would be great...
