hi guys i'm looking to jailbreak 1 of my ps3 what i want to know is the first step that i need to begin with if anyone can help me with this little matter i'll be really thankful for any help you guys can provide thanks in advance

Step 1) Search for jailbreaking tutorials that are already in the forums.
Step 2) Follow tutorial.

I'll add a little more

Step A) What model is your PS3?
Step B) What firmware is on your PS3?
Step C) If firmware is above 3.56 check if model can be downgraded to 3.55.
Step D) If downgradable search for downgrading tutorial then proceed to Step 1 above.
Step E) If not downgradable or cannot downgrade to 3.55 you cannot jailbreak.

Hi @Pierre_GTR

Yes, it is possible to downgrade your machine, but you will need a Hardware Flasher to be able to do so. A software downgrade isn't possible on FW 4.21.
So no it's not a 'huge' problem, but it will cost ya.

ok cool well i'll wait a bit cuz I talk to someone and i might be able to get a ps3 of 60GO and it's been a while that it didn't been of use so i guess the version will be under 3.55 and if i'm doing something wrong well i will not loose much i'll know if I get this 3rd machine tonight

If you want to play online we recommend you buy an e3 flasher. This can downgrade your console but also have a dual boot feature. This way you can have cfw one the console and ofw on the e3 flasher's chip.

Note that to use the e3 flasher on a phat PS3 you will need to do some soldering, with slims I think you can buy a NOR clip which means you do not have to solder. I am not sure about the installation process, I dont have one, but you may be able to look it up on youtube.

thanks but i think that if everything goes well with the phat console i'll just use this one offline that will save me trouble since i'm brand new in hack univers i'll use this opportunity to experiment and learn more but thanks for this great info
