Update date of version 3.40 or later can be installed on this system (80002F967)

So basically after reading all different sorts of topics, you should have a factory version lower than v3.51, because otherwise you won't be able to jailbreak your Playstation 3.

However the idea of owning the system seemed marvelous to me, I am just wondering if there are many downsides. As I checked most of the responses around here, people kept coming up with errors or kept failing to make it work. I don't really know how difficult it can be, but I surely do not want to brick my PS3.

• Am I able to jailbreak my PS3, Factory Firmware Version 3.51
• Do I require a special chip .. or Eflasher as I heard before, or can I make it work with any FAT formated USB stick
• I heard sony could ban your motherboard, meaning you won't be able to revert back or unroot.. any solutions to this?

• Can you also install a program on your PS3 to play downloaded PS3 ISO games

  2. Format Your USB/Flash Drive to FAT32

  4. Mount the USB/Flash drive to your PS3

Click on the banner at the top which says "scene status" all your questions will be answered.

Updating to 3.55 is best, no higher. 3.55 is the golden firmware for jailbreaking. No need for chips and no fear of bricking. It's so simple.

Dunno about mobo banning, but multiman is the loader of choice for backups.

Well you just answered your own worrys . Come on im sure ****ing google works just as good in other languages and in what ever country your from there is bound to be a "scene" site . There is a banner on this site to that kinda gives you a push in the right direction .Have a chat with google . If your 3.55 or below your alright if your not then you need to spend money if you want to steal games Why do you need to flaunt it , most people on these site do it but don't openly admit it , and ones that say they don't are lying, it's like a girl that says they don't fart , Come on now wise up and use your brain buddy

You should really not talk about jailbreak only to play free games it really makes all of us look bad in the ps3 scene .Jailbreak is not about playing free games it is about development & owning your PS3 or what ever system. I don't want to be a ass but it it the truth .People should leave the playing downloading free games out of there post if this is the only reason you want to jailbreak for .

Thanks a lot .. and even though I have seen it, I have also seen many posts that people bricked their own PS3 which made me worry, it's not that I don't know how .. There are probably a lot of ways to get the job done, all I was asking was the best and the most safe one.

I am sorry ... I was just worried and as I stated above I only looked for some confirmation, most people only post when something goes wrong, not when everything works like a charm, when I clicked on the banner, I saw for example 19 people who messed something up and only one who succeeded .. Knowing I have no intentions at all to spam your forums, it did give me some chillz.

I do understand that the ideas of anonymous go way beyond, still I don't want to be a hypocrite and I never had any intentions to insult you or any members of the scene. Don't take it personal, I sadly don't know anything about developing, but I am aware that for you guys their was certainly a long way to go and I respect each single second you or this scene has put in making these things possible.

However life has thought me.. that there is only one basic thought, Almost any person in the world doesn't care how it has to be done, they just want it to be done, as long as their own hands won't get dirty. However I deeply regret it, I do feel like this is the society we currently live in :s

@Intensity007 I understand what you are saying .I only try to explain in simple way "For everyone not just you". If you are or want to jailbreak . People should know there is no reason to post they want to download & play free games in forums. The reason this should be kept to themselves is a good reason.

When people make post about they want to download it give people like sony & other copyright trolls alike a reason to call everyone pirates. This talk of downloading & free games, should be avoided cause sony & other copyright trolls, can use any form posts as a "example" to call/label us as just or only a pirate scene & we are nothing more than that. Copyright trolls are wrong about everyone & hack scenes. This they need to understand & they need to get there facts straight . They like to control scenes like this & we should not give them any leverage by letting them see us post about P2P sharing & what they like to call us => "Pirates"

Now your post was not in any way offending. I just try to explain if you want to download or play free , no need to post about that information in threads for you motive to jailbreak that is your business. When allot of people see that kind of talk , many people will criticize you & think bad about you, or give the others a reason to call you a pirate. If you don't want people to think of you as a pirate then people should not post like one.

I hope you understand what i have said here.

Install Sony's official 3.55 firmware pup then install the kmeaw firmware pup and you're jailbroken and just about good to go, OP

Is their an easy way to switch back from Jailbroken to ... Unbroken for example .. I mean something like dual boot .. or a way you can backup your PS3 HDD, so if something goes wrong you can just restore a previous image
