Downgrading.
Can anyone out there help me. I'm wondering if i can downgrade my system from an 4.10 version to a 3.55 to where i can hack my system and dont cost me anything.

What firmware did it come with?
Is your PS3 a 300x series? check the label underneath your PS3 and read the serial number. If it says 3001 or anything like that you cant downgrade. If it says 2500 or lower you can downgrade but it will cost you and you will need hardware such as E3/progskeet and downgrade dongle to do so. Happy hunting.

simonbuck yes i just joined and did research and most ppl are saying cant downgrade a 3.55 plus version.
DEFAULTDNB my ps3 i got it when they first com out and its a 60gb system i will check and see what serial number is on the bottom. Also im wondering that if i am able to hack my syste will i still be able to play all my game disc i already have for it including my ps 1 and 2 discs.. |

After you downgrade you can still play ps1, ps2, and ps3 games. |

Newer titles will not run on CFW without a patch. the DEX conversion will allow you to play them still though this is a difficult to do hack.
