Having metldrpwn precompiled saves you some steps as you don't have to do the compile steps in Linux.
The quickest way I can think of is: Dump Flash/EID Flash OOS++ Reboot to Petitboot Mount the extracted Red Ribbon from USB (with precompiled metldrpwn already included?) Run metldrpwn and dump the eid root key to the root of the USB and then boot to GameOS. Use C2D to create the vaild DEX bin and then flash back in GameOS. Update to DEX FW. |

How come you can flash back in gameOS but cant dump from gameOS?

You can dump NAND or NOR from GameOS, you can't dump the eid root key from GameOS. The EID root key can only be dumped via metldrpwn which you need linux for.
If a LiveCD was built which had everything pre-compiled and ready to mnt under Petitboot, you would simply run metldrpwn, grab the key and then complete the rest in GameOS. |

Sorry to ask but how come there isn't a live cd yet? Is it so difficult to make one for PS3?
