I think that the failoverflow team had been tinkering with the bootloader since their first exploit
but never released anything about it.
Anyway, even if they said that they would never return to the ps3 scene that is no excuse to sit on the most important exploit of all and refuse to release it.

@Squarepusher2 : yeah, just what we need; dev gods that decide what is good and what is not for us...

Sony scared off failOverflow, I doubt they'll touch the PS3 ever again

Yeah, but they already have the exploit ready and nothing stops them from releasing it anonymously.

It's real and squarepusher2 even confirmed it.
They have the exploit but they just use the usual "sony is scary" and "piracy is bad for you(but not for us)" excuses to not release it.

@marcan 42: @zecoxao the bootldr keys are just as fail as the metldr keys, it's just that people suck at extracting them (no, don't ask us)
For me its sounds like so, but if you read squarpusher2 posts, other devs pwned it too.

They dont want too share their findings and secure it in DRM-Dongles and want the community behind the light.

yeah, I guess that's why E3 said that we can have a higher CFW, no need to stay on 3.55. I hate the holy devs even more now

Some things about the metldr leak from Math always remained back in my mind.

The question is, do you really need keys to get a decrypted signature ?
Well the real answer is no, thanks to a nifty fail that sony left in in metldr (and the bootloader), you can have the ldr to decrypt the metadata for you, isn't that neat ?
Notice the 'and the bootloader' part.

The 'cat is out of the bag' indeed, but not in the way the article might have intended it to be read.
Lol, yeah, i was laughing so much reading all the posts from well know devs that said that backups are impossible on dex when there were people already reporting otherwise.
