Thats what kakaroto did, and it seems he had to take his progress down (he had a progress where he stated element a was x% done, element b was y% done, etc), because people KEPT spamming him and asking, if it was updated, and how long it was etc, and if they had forgotten it.

Besides, people started calling him names, saying it was fake, and he was never going to release it (I don't get why they tried to mock and taunt.. if it was immature, why release it?), anyway, it seems that did not work out very well....

Its problematic, because I believe a lot of work is going on, and it would be reassuring, if we knew that actually was the case, but... Well I liked the progress thing, but ALOT seemingly ruined it, made it a bother/problem.

I can understand how you feel and all but what gives you or anyone the right to demand they give you something? let them work and if they create something along the lines of a dongle that is their choice and we will continue *****ing again. I'm not saying I support them keeping it private I actually like information to be public but what isn't mine I shouldn't take unless offered, at least that's my personal way of thinking. The fact is we don't know so why demand it? Something as big as cex-dex was never meant to be leaked but to be properly released when ready, is waiting really so hard?

No offense taken, i like to read about various points of view and what you say makes sense but let's put aside the whole cex2dex thing and let's examine this particular bootloader exploit:

-squarepusher2 already confirmed that the exploit exist
-marcan42 and other people have the exploit ready to use(no more development needs to be done)
-the exploit would be immensely useful for the end user if used correctly

Those are the facts but the people who knows how to do it won't even give hints about the method and let's not even talk about a possible release.
