PS3 stuck in Service Mode

I have been given this old phat and I have been told that Red Ribbon RC5 is installed so I am assuming it has 3.55 OOS++ on it (but which exact OOS++ version I don't know).

So, plugs it in and turn it on and RSOD

I have managed to fix that using CrashSerious's RSOD Lv2diag.self but now it's in FSM and I can't exit it

Maybe it was in FSM before RSOD?

I can't install any packages so I can't use the FSM package by CrashSerious.

Can anybody help or have a Lv2diag.self that will kick it out of FSM?

The only other PS3 I have is my phat 60gb but that is on OFW.

I was planning on using this one to convert to a DEX but until I can get out of FSM, I can't do anything.

I can't work on this until I get home from work but please feel free to post any suggestions that would help.

TIA.

JonahUK.

OK so I nipped home from work for an hour (great company!) to take a look at some Lv2diag.self files I found on the wiki.

Tried them all on the root of my USB HDD and none of them worked.
I have tried with the 3.55OOS++ pup in the root of the drive as well as the normal update folder. Getting nowhere.

This is the same HDD that I used to fix the RSOD issue and that worked fine.

Any ideas?

Would it be worth trying to downgrade from 3.55 OOS++ to a lower firmware to get out of FSM?

I could then start afresh with 3.55CFW.

@carldenning

Thanks but I have already tried the files from the wiki and used the .self in the folder "FILE 2" and it didn't work.

Debating whether to try a downgrade or not as I'm not sure if the diag self's will work with it being OOS++.

The only other thing I can think of is that I might have to use a flash drive rather than a HDD even though the HDD worked for fixing the RSOD.

Cheers pal, appreciate it.

I'm back in work now so it will be early evening (UK time) before I can test it.

Here's the one from FSM Tool v0.2 by CrashSerious for exiting FSM. Just rename it and try it if carldenning's one doesn't work.

Hahaha. Live just near the Quays mate. Hopefully the one carldenning posted will work so I won't need to downgrade.
