PS3 gone mad

Ive been trying to get linux running the past few days and Iv had a few problems booting into petitboot.

I have a old fat 60GB and when I was on the otherOS++ I went through all the steps..
Setup flash for other os (three beeps)
Reboot..
Install otherOS.. (three beeps)
Boot otherOS (three beeps)
Reboot.pkg (Nothing)

But after the reboot it always just started the console back up and said my machine was not shut down properly.

So I was troubleshooting with process of elimination and trying a few different things. I decided to go back to 3.55 OFW and start every thing again..
I installed 3.55 ofw then went to recovery mode and installed 3.55 with otherOS.. After it installed and started for the first time I wasn't paying attention and began an update.. It began fairly quickly so I disconnected my internet but It didn't stop so I took out the game in the drive but it kept installing the update.. I was sick but I decided to let it finish to see what firmware it was on..

After the update finished it rebooted and started up in petitboot????

I haven't done anything because im afraid I wont be able to get back into it again.. My console could even bricked because I turned it off during an update..

Any ideas?

Lynx = Linux right? :P

If you began an update it would have been downloading the update and not installing it, you would have had to confirm installation of the update, so I don't think anything is bricked.

I did confirm it but it didn't download anything. I thought it might of took it from unreal tournament 3 that was in the drive. Yeah I dont think it would of booted petitboot unless it was still on 3.55 otherOS++.. I just dont want to exit petitboot in case I cant get back in. Do you know if I can use metldrpwn now from here or do I have to go back to my xmb to install RR RC5?

sorry for my bad english...

I'm on cfw 3.55
Just before two weeks i was open the ps3 just to change the paste and clean it up. I close it carefully and open it. Everything was seems allright so i was watching a movie on ps3 media server. In about 15 minutes the ps3 show a message about the tempeture was too high and suddenly close. I open it again and just change the paste...

When i try to open from the power on, it starts automatically goes to green, without going to standby button, and the fans goes crazy, after the fans slow down 3 beeps and the standby light blinks without close ever.

I sent it to a service but they say that they don't know what the problem is...

Sometimes when i open the power of and push the standby button a lot of times the ps3 opens and i m able to play.
And i can close it normally from the standby button, also opens from standby normally.

In the last times that, i try to open it with the power switch and the same time push the standby button, not so easy opens.

Anybody have some idea what happens?

I think the paste you use must of got into something else. Also is your Ps3 backing into a wall a shelf or what. It really depends how you put it. Sometimes my brother puts the ps3 side ways and it quiets down just fine and it cools down try putting a fan near it.
